POSITION: LOCAL NON-PAID INTERN FOR THE OFFICE OF TRANSITION INITIATIVE (OTI)

CLOSING DATE: 08/01/2017

DURATION OF INTERNSHIP: Three months (may be extended but not to exceed six months)

WORK HOURS: 40 hours/week

SALARY RANGE: Non-Paid

The U.S. Mission in Yaounde, Cameroon is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual for the position of Local Non-Paid Intern for OTI in the Cameroon field office of USAID/West Africa.

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION

Under the supervision of the USAID/OTI Country Representative, incumbent will play a supportive role around administrative tasks, analytical tasks, and creative tasks as needed. The USAID/OTI Cameroon Program focuses on the goal of bringing peace and stability to the Far North of Cameroon in order to lay the foundation for future progress and longer term development. The program is not limited to any particular sector and is a dynamic, intensive and creative work environment.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE

Applicants must address each required qualification listed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item. Failure to do so may result in a determination that the applicant is not qualified.

  1. Social science, International Relations, Information Technology, Journalism or related Bachelor's degree required.
  2. Level III (Good working Knowledge) Speaking/Reading/Writing of English and French are required and will be tested.
  3. Must be computer literate in MS Word and MS Excel and have a good understanding of Windows operating system.
  4. Innovative, good inter-personal skills, analytical, detail oriented, self-motivated person is required.
