About Good Neighbors Cameroon

Good Neighbors is an international NGO established in 1991 in Seoul, South Korea. It operates in 51 countries to support child protection and sustainable development. Since 2014, Good Neighbors Cameroon (GNCMR) has delivered development and humanitarian programs in health, nutrition, child protection, education, WASH, and environmental conservation. GNCMR maintains offices in Yaoundé, Maroua, and Mbalmayo and collaborates with UN agencies and international partners.


Assignment Overview

GNCMR seeks an experienced consultant to conduct a two-day training on mobile data collection using ODK and KoboCollect. The goal is to strengthen the staff's technical capacity in data collection, analysis, and digital survey management for improved project planning and implementation.


Objectives

  • Deliver hands-on, participatory training tailored to 20 staff members
  • Equip participants with practical skills in ODK/KoboCollect for form design, data collection, management, and analysis
  • Conduct pre- and post-training evaluations to assess learning outcomes

Training Scope and Content

Methodology

  • Interactive presentations
  • Simulations and exercises

Modules

  1. Introduction to KoboToolbox
    • Platform overview, account setup, interface navigation
  2. Project and Form Design
    • Using FormBuilder and XLSForm
    • Advanced question types and logic
    • Multilingual and branded forms
  3. Deployment and Data Collection
    • Online/offline modes, KoboCollect mobile app
    • GPS, multimedia inputs, full interview capture
  4. Data Management and Security
    • Viewing, exporting, editing data
    • Backup, encryption, and metadata management
  5. Project Administration
    • Team management, permissions, dashboards, reports
  6. Data Integration and Analysis
    • Using Excel, Power BI, Power Query
    • API use and GIS data export
  7. Qualitative Data Processing
    • Audio transcription and analysis

Deliverables

  • Enhanced staff skills in mobile data tools
  • Increased capacity in designing and managing mobile surveys
  • Improved data analysis and reporting capabilities

Consultant Profile

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g. Information Systems, Public Health, Data Science)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience conducting technical training in mobile data collection
  • Proven expertise in ODK/KoboCollect platforms
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills

Reporting
