The Georgetown University Center for Global Health Practice and Impact (CGHPI) serves countries to improve their population health and wellbeing and to safeguard against health-related threats by advancing the use of evidence and human-centered enterprise architecture on the path towards achieving equity and social justice. To achieve this mission, we catalyze the uptake, spread, and implementation of innovations; triangulate data from different sources, and tailor visualization of the information for each audience; design and implement integrated service delivery models; support communities of practice to inform policy and practice through efficient data use and horizontal and vertical collaboration; disseminate best practices and evidence globally through open source learning networks; build global, collaborative, multi-disciplinary, and interprofessional networks; undertake research that is informed by local needs; and invest in local leadership to own, provide oversight, and sustain implemented interventions. Georgetown University, through CGHPI, has recently received an award from U.S Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (U.S. CDC) through funding from the U.S President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) to support HIV response efforts in Cameroon for achievement of HIV epidemic control to implement a program titled Translating Data and Evidence into Impact (TIDE). As a result, CGHPI is recruiting for the following program implementation positions. All prospective candidates must be fluent in French and working knowledge of English. These positions will be based in Yaoundé or Bertoua. CGHPI is operating in Cameroon as Georgetown Global Health LLC (GGHC)
GGHC Office Positions
Position: Community Outreach Specialist, TIDE Program Cameroon.
Reports to: Integrated Service Delivery Improvement Team Leader
Location of work: Yaoundé and Bertoua, Cameroon

Position Summary: The Community Outreach Specialist will support all facilities and districts within the region to improve case identification at community level and others HIV program area. The coordinator will lead initiatives to ensure community activities aimed at optimizing case identification and linkage to treatment of all
positive are implemented.
The coordinator will support the development and implementation of GU community strategy to optimize HIV testing services and Index case testing and will develop innovative strategies to ensure these services are scaled up to all communities under supported facilities. The coordinator will provide technical and program support in planning and implementation of community health services, including but not limited to health fairs, community events and targeted outreach.

Essential functions
- This above-site staff will monitor the implementation of community-level interventions and ensure that all activities are executed according to plan and in an integrated manner.
- He/she will monitor program community activities in the workplan on a weekly basis to inform on progress.
- He/she will work closely with the technical team - MOH staff, GU facility nurses, above-site clinical and GU CBO coordinator, to plan, implement, and scale-up strategies for high impact interventions at the community level
- He/she will work collaboratively with other IPs to ensure good coordination and efficient programming and management of community health interventions
- He/she will also serve as a bride between community health workers, health districts, RTG and GU.
- He/she will promote services in the community, performs program support duties such as identifying and meeting with community partners, drafting program education materials, organizing events, maintaining program database.
- He/she will plan implementation of activities in close collaboration with the respective zone-based technical specialists and District Medical officer.
- He/she will support development of community health technical documents and reports; Conduct training on community health packages.
- He/she will support mentorship and supportive supervision for CHW supervisors and CHWs.
- He/she will ensure an effective linkage system from the community to the facility of all positive clients is developed and implemented.
- He/she will participate in program integrated data review sessions and support development of care improvement plans informed by evidence.
- He/she will support treatment preparation and adherence counselling interventions to improve early retention to treatment.
- He/she will ensure that CHWs have updated learning tools, job aides, and reporting tools.
- He/she will ensure that materials and supplies reach targeted sites in a timely manner.
- Prepare and submit weekly reports on community health interventions in a timely manner.
- Assist with organization of technical meetings, trainings, field visits, events, and other activities.
- Assist with other programmatic and administrative duties as required
- Prepare and submit reports to the supervisor in a timely manner.
Qualifications and skills Required:
- Master's degree in Public Health and/or bachelor's degree in nursing, and / or equivalent experience / training.
- Entry-level with 2 or more years working or volunteering in community-based settings.
- Skills:
- Solid organizational, planning and time management skills.
- Solid written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Knowledge of health or social services and outreach practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively, secure cooperation and facilitate partnerships.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to deliver educational presentations to diverse groups.
- Ability to deal with confidential matters with tact and diplomacy.
- Solid Knowledge of Microsoft Windows software.
Qualifications and skills Preferred:
- Clinical Staff with Public health training/experience
- Fluent bilingual French/English skills are highly desired
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Experience in capacity building skills, including training and mentoring skills
- Ability to analyze data and develop reports.
- Possess strong communication skills, leadership abilities and be able to work with a variety of people
- Be detailed, organized, and able to assist and multitask while helping other employees
- Possess computer skills with the ability to electronically access and input data
- Be able to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse, underserved populations
Ideally, this position will work 30-40 hours per week, both in the community and in the office as needed. Work schedule will be set by the supervisor and based on operational needs. Schedule may include evenings and weekends.
