Finance and Accounts Executive (FAE)

Purpose

  • Implement, manage and enhance company's accounting policies. Instituting financial systems in all accounting functions. Responsible for supervising bank lodgements, reconciliation, debt and loan management and monitoring the company's financial statements

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ensure preparation of proper cost analysis on all purchase orders for the business development team.
  • Responsible for preparing the company's budget, implement and monitor strict compliance by all departments.
  • Supervise monthly stock counts of the company's store and ensure proper documentation of all supplies/deliveries/payments made.
  • Responsible for the accurate processing and reconciliation of the entire company's financial transactions concerning cash and sales proceeds, bank lodgements and charges, payments. Stock/product transfer
  • To supervise all entries into the Finance software in terms of reporting information and minimising transaction errors.
  • To ensure the strict adherence to financial procedures and internal controls so that the company is protected from fraud; theft and error and that accounting records are complete and accurate.
  • To ensure all third party payments such Pension, WHT, PAYE and company tax remittances are paid as at when due.
  • Maintain active and beneficial relationships with all the company's banks for the effective management of cash flow and banking transactions.
  • Supervise the effective performance of the branch financial transactions on a day to day basis
  • Support the Financial Controller on designated tasks and to carry out other tasks that are reasonably requested. This list of tasks is not exhaustive and will be reviewed from time to time in discussion with the post holder.

Financial Perspective

  • Overall financial performance of the unit.
  • Accuracy, timeliness and usefulness of financial/management reports
  • Evidence of good financial relationships with all the company's relationships with the banks

Customer Perspective

  • Level of customer's satisfaction with speed and quality of service delivery

Internal Processes Perspective

  • Level of adherence to established accounting policies/procedures
  • High level of teamwork within and across interrelated units of the company.
  • 48 - 72 hours maximum turn-around time for processing financial requests.

Learning and Growth/Employee Perspective

  • Level of employee/subordinates knowledge on company's product and service offerings
  • Level of employees satisfaction with speed and quality of service delivery
  • Number of educational qualifications/certifications within unit per time period (annually)

Required Competencies and Attributes

  • Must be conversant with international finance and accounting procedures
  • Must possess be aware of products and services in the mobile technology space
  • Must possess superior writing and oral communication skills
  • Must possess the ability to interact with people – both staff and customers alike
  • Must possess the ability to develop and maintain relationship with customers
  • Must possess good co-ordination and organizational skills
  • Must possess excellent multi-tasking and problem solving skills
  • Must possess strong team interaction, support and leadership skills.
  • Must be discernibly honest and of consistent upright character.
  • Must possess leadership, mentoring and coaching skills
  • Must be conversant with Microsoft office packages and at least one financial accounting package e.g. Peachtree, Great plain, Navision e.t.c
  • Must be a good team player, must be innovative and proactive

Experience and Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in accounting, business administration, economics, banking and finance or any other degree in management/social sciences
  • A minimum of 7 years post-graduation experience in a similar position.
  • Must be a Chartered Accountant. Possession of a relevant post-graduate degree or professional qualification will be an added advantage

  • Must be a good team player, must be innovative and proactive

Experience and Qualifications

  • A minimum of OND or degree or equivalent in accounting, business administration, economics, banking and finance or any other degree in management/social sciences
  • A minimum of 2 years post-graduation experience in a similar position.Perfectly bilingual.
