The Grant Manager will oversee a team of grants professionals and manage a diverse portfolio of sub-agreements with a focus on donor compliance, reporting, and capacity building. This role requires collaboration with project and operations teams to maintain financial oversight and ensure compliance with donor requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the sub-recipient process, including due diligence and agreement preparation.
  2. Identify capacity-building needs for sub-grantee staff and design training programs.
  3. Review and submit monthly financial reports from sub-grantees to HQ.
  4. Monitor grant periods and spending trends, coordinating with project teams for modifications.
  5. Develop a compliance review plan for sub-grantees and ensure implementation.
  6. Support proposal and budget preparation for new business development.
  7. Maintain documentation in the Contracts and Grants Information System for audits.
  8. Communicate regularly with Senior Management and HQ for compliance updates.
  9. Evaluate financial positions and risks of grantees/organizations.
  10. Assist leadership in grant recommendations and risk management strategies.
  11. Provide financial perspectives in grant-making and cultivate partnerships.
  12. Analyze data to improve resource allocation and decision-making.
  13. Structure grants to optimize cash disbursements considering operational risks.
  14. Participate in cross-foundation projects for operational excellence.
  15. Track and monitor audit/compliance findings and their implementation.
  16. Ensure timely administration of sub-grant closeouts.
  17. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in a related field with at least 7 years of experience in grants management.
  • Knowledge of U.S. Government grant regulations and complex program management.
  • Experience in an international NGO is a plus.
  • Strategic thinker with self-direction and motivation.
  • Strong report writing and presentation skills.
  • Ability to develop training programs for diverse audiences.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%.
  • Emotionally intelligent with conflict resolution skills.
