Program Background
This position is part of the BHA Project Cost Modification. The Assistant, Nutrition will contribute to the implementation of nutrition programs, particularly in CMAM (Community-based Management of Acute Malnutrition) and IYCF (Infant and Young Child Feeding), ensuring all activities follow IMC standards and protocols.
Job Summary
The role requires field-based execution of nutrition programming, capacity building, supply monitoring, and coordination with health facility staff, CHVs, and other key stakeholders to deliver effective nutrition services.
Main Responsibilities
- Assist in CMAM and IYCF activities at health facilities and community levels.
- Provide supportive supervision and collect weekly and monthly reports.
- Monitor supply levels for SAM and MAM in health facilities and mobile teams.
- Identify training needs and support organization of CMAM and IYCF training sessions.
- Train CHVs on MUAC screening, nutrition, hygiene, and key messaging.
- Collaborate with Health and WASH teams to integrate nutrition messaging.
- Establish community feedback mechanisms and ensure timely program response.
- Work with M&E teams to collect data and maintain project documentation.
Minimum Qualifications
- Diploma in Nutrition, Nursing, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in CMAM and IYCF‑E.
- 2+ years in administrative work.
- Experience in health/nutrition programs, preferably with an international NGO.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel to project sites.
- Strong English and Arabic communication skills (spoken and written).
