Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Deploy and integrate new nodes, links, and services into MTN's core network.
- Manage network changes, including implementation, testing, and post-change performance reviews.
- Monitor and report daily on core network performance metrics.
- Troubleshoot complex network issues and resolve vulnerabilities in collaboration with local and vendor teams.
- Oversee third-party vendors (GTP, SS7, SMS firewall) to ensure SLA compliance.
- Lead disaster recovery planning (DRP) and ensure alignment with business continuity policies.
- Conduct audits of core network configurations to maintain system integrity.
- Support cross-functional teams (Marketing, Customer Service, Billing) with technical expertise.
Technical Skills & Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic or Telecommunications Engineering.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in CS/PS core network operations.
- Proficiency in TCP/IP troubleshooting (Wireshark, protocol analyzers).
- Familiarity with ZTE, Huawei, and Ericsson core network equipment.
Certifications (Preferred)
- ZTE ZXUN (EPC/PCRF/NCEE/DRA)
- Ericsson CUDB, GSM/WCDMA MSC
- NFV (TCES), ITIL V3, ISO 9001
Core Knowledge Areas
- Standards: 3GPP, ITU-T, ANSI.
- Protocols: SS7 (SCCP, TCAP, MAP), SIGTRAN, Diameter, SIP/RTP, ISUP, IMS (VoLTE/VoWiFi).
- Emerging Tech: Core network virtualization/cloudification, OCS/CAMEL billing systems.
