Background and Justification

GNCMR's Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTD) Department has conducted deworming campaigns across the Centre Region of Cameroon. The data collected during these mass deworming campaigns is systematically recorded and managed through the DHIS2 platform.

Assignment Description

The Consultant will train a minimum of 20 GNCMR staff members, focusing on practical, hands-on knowledge transfer. The training must be interactive, participatory, and practical, incorporating real-life case studies.

Topics to Be Covered (including but not limited to):

  • Introduction to DHIS2: System Overview and Capabilities
  • Application of DHIS2 for Deworming Campaigns
  • Roles and Responsibilities in Campaign Data Management
  • Data Entry and Form Completion in DHIS2
  • Ensuring Data Quality and Accuracy
  • Campaign Data Analysis and Reporting
  • Monitoring Tools and Dashboards
  • Fundamentals of Aggregate Data Capture and Analysis
  • Customization of Visual Outputs (Charts, Graphs, Dashboards) to Support Decision-Making

Expected Deliverables

  • Increased proficiency among staff in navigating and using the DHIS2 platform
  • Strengthened competencies in data extraction, analysis, and interpretation
  • Enhanced ability to identify and correct data input errors within DHIS2

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • An advanced degree in public health, health informatics, data science, or a related field
  • Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in DHIS2 training and facilitation
  • Prior work with INGOs or national health programs preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to lead interactive training sessions
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French
