Headquartered in Yaoundé, with field offices in Maroua and Mbalmayo, GNCMR delivers community-based projects across several sectors including food security and livelihoods, education, child protection, WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), health, environmental conservation, gender equity, and advocacy.

One of our central pillars of intervention is food security. GNCMR's work in this area centers on two main strategies:

Strengthening Community Resiliencethrough sustainable agricultural practices and climate-adaptive solutions for smallholder farmers.Combating Malnutrition, particularly among vulnerable populations, by promoting the use of locally available, nutritionally balanced foods.

As part of our commitment to food security, GNCMR partners with the World Food Programme (WFP) under the Emergency Food Crisis Response Project (PULCCA). This project aims to enhance food and nutritional security while increasing resilience to climate shocks in targeted communities.

Position Summary: Field Monitoring Assistant

The Field Monitoring Assistant will be responsible for tracking project implementation and ensuring alignment with expected results. The role includes regular field visits, data collection, beneficiary engagement, and logistical support. The assistant will play a vital role in performance monitoring, issue identification, and adaptive project management.

This position also requires active participation in procurement and logistics operations, with a focus on inventory management, vehicle rental coordination, and compliance with GNCMR and donor standards.

Key Responsibilities

Monitoring and Evaluation

  • Conduct routine visits to agricultural sites (crop and livestock) to monitor progress and identify challenges.
  • Support and mentor farmer groups by providing technical guidance and tracking their activities.
  • Collaborate with local authorities (MINADER and MINEPIA) to register and engage project beneficiaries.
  • Assist in organizing and facilitating training sessions for smallholder farmers and other rural stakeholders.
  • Ensure inclusivity and gender equity in beneficiary groups and encourage women's leadership.
  • Support value chain development and structured market participation for SHFs, SMEs, and aggregators.
  • Maintain updated records on distribution, project outcomes, and beneficiary feedback.
  • Draft and submit monthly monitoring reports and incident reports as needed.

Project Logistics

  • Procurement Support: Contribute to the timely and cost-efficient sourcing of project goods and services.
  • Asset and Inventory Management: Track the distribution and usage of project materials and equipment.
  • Fleet and Transport Coordination: Manage vehicle rental logistics, including tracking, fueling, and driver supervision.
  • Compliance & Reporting: Ensure all logistical operations comply with GNCMR and donor requirements. Prepare documentation and reports on logistical processes.
  • Communication with Stakeholders: Maintain liaison with suppliers, vendors, and partners to ensure smooth delivery and operations.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in International Development, Humanitarian Affairs, Project Management, Agriculture, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years in humanitarian or development work, preferably in agriculture, livelihoods, or food security projects. Proven experience in data collection, project monitoring, and logistics is essential.
  • Skills:
    • Ability to work independently and proactively under limited supervision.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in field operations.
    • Familiarity with logistics functions including procurement, asset management, and transportation.
  • Languages: Proficiency in both English and French (spoken and written) is mandatory.
