Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist (P3), Temporary Appointment - Bertoua, Cameroon

UNICEF is hiring a Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist for a temporary position based in Bertoua, Cameroon. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the East Region of Cameroon as part of a multidimensional child protection programme funded by KOICA (2025-2028). The project targets improvements in education, water and sanitation, birth registration, and child protection, with a strong focus on local coordination through “Child-Friendly Municipalities”.

Key Responsibilities

As Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist, you will:

  • Design and manage M&E systems to assess project impact and progress.
  • Track key indicators and generate regular performance reports.
  • Guide data collection, analysis, and quality assurance.
  • Support capacity-building for partners and internal teams.
  • Ensure that gender and social inclusion indicators are integrated.
  • Coordinate field visits and collaborate with local stakeholders and authorities.

Candidate Profile

Required:

  • Advanced university degree in social sciences, statistics, international development, economics, or related fields.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL).
  • Strong skills in data management, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Fluency in English.

Assets:

  • Work experience in developing countries or emergency contexts.
  • Familiarity with KOICA-funded projects or Korean institutional practices.
  • Previous experience with UNICEF or other international development organizations.
  • Knowledge of French and/or Korean is an advantage.
