Main objectives

The Cleaner/Cook works under the guidance and supervision of the Log Base. He/she is responsible for the cleanness of the INTERSOS indoor premises. He/she washes, irons and plies clothes.

He/she must perform all duties related to preparation of meals for the INTERSOS staff at the office. He/she must maintain a high level of hygiene and order in the kitchen and during food preparation and be in charge of the household inventory of consumables and supplies.

He/she must perform all duties related to preparation of meals for the INTERSOS staff at the office. He/she must maintain a high level of hygiene and order in the kitchen and during food preparation and be in charge of the household inventory of consumables and supplies.

Main tasks and expected results:

Cleaning

  1. Cleaning:
  • Based on weekly planning, proceeds to the cleaning of the INTERSOS premises indoor only.
  • In office, waits people are in break to clean their office (preferably during lunch break).
  • Daily, makes sure aeration of the premises is effective.

  1. When cleaning:
  • Sweeps all floors. Eventually, cleans with water and detergent.
  • Cleans with chlorine the floors once a week.
  • Cleans over the cupboards, moves the furniture, makes sure it's cleaned under and behind.

  1. House / office consumable:
  • Makes sure toilet paper is available at all times in bathrooms.
  • Makes sure soap is available at all times in washrooms.
  • Will be held responsible for any stock rupture.

  1. Clothes washing :
  • Will clean expatriate staff clothes. Clothes must be cleaned, ironed and plied every second day.

  • Implement any task and duty requested by his direct supervisor.

Cooking

  • Prepare and serve daily meals as required
  • Keep the kitchen and cooking utensils clean at all times
  • Follow good hygienic rules in personal cleanliness and food preparation;
  • Assist in any cleaning and household work, as required;
  • Prepare shopping needs and do shopping as necessary, always trying to keep costs down to reasonable levels.
  • Conduct himself/herself both professionally and personally in such a manner as to bring credit to INTERSOS not jeopardize its humanitarian mission.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience

  • Work experience in NGO is considered an asset

Language

  • English language and Pidgin
