Main objectives

The GBV Specialist is responsible, from a technical point of view, of all the Protection-related activities of the project, in collaboration with the Project Manager.

Responsabilities

Missions et responsabilities:

  • In collaboration with the Project manager, provide technical leadership related to project design, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the mobile GBV activities in Buea and Bamenda;
  • Support the PM and Field Coordinator to develop training modules and provide regular training and mentoring to field staff and key partners on case management, psychosocial support and for vulnerable groups (including persons with disabilities);
  • Support the PM and Field Coord to develop community engagement methodologies and tools, participatory design for GBV and general protection awareness and outreach activities;
  • Promote good standards in all GBV interventions, ensuring survivor-centered case management and psychosocial support services as well as the safe and ethical collection, storage, analysis and sharing
  • Promote evidence-informed, community-driven GBV prevention and risk reduction strategies, including participatory community mobilization strategies, community-based protection mechanisms and protection and gender mainstreaming across other sectors;
  • Meaningfully engage local partners and community members, particularly women and girls, in all aspects of implementation, and monitoring in order to maintain inclusive programs, contextual relevance, and sustainability;

  • Advocate the meaningful integration of gender within all protections activities to promote safe, dignified, and equitable access to resources and services for women and girls;

Develop technically sound work plans and activities consistent with project goals and objectives in coordination with GBV staff

Education

  • Degree in Public Health, Psychology, International Human Rights, or other related field (e.g., gender studies);

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience and at least 3 years managing GBV prevention and response programs.

Language

  • Excellent communication skills, with good spoken and written English;
  • Knowledge of Nkwen et Bakweri languages

Skills

· Good knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook);

· Professional, hard-working, and a self-motivated person;

· Very strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, collaborative approach with the ability to work within different cultural environments;

· Good writing capacity and high communication skills in multicultural contexts
