The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Cameroon is seeking a qualified professional for the position of Senior Risk & Compliance Officer.
Required Qualifications
- Accounting certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) or a Master's degree in International Business, Finance, or MBA.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in financial and accounting management.
- At least 2 years in a managerial role, with proven success working in multicultural and decentralized teams.
- Strong expertise in financial reporting, internal controls, and budgeting.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing new processes and systems.
- Previous NGO experience and international exposure are considered assets.
- Knowledge of the WWF Network is an advantage.

Mission of the Department
The mission of the department is to ensure a high-performing WWF CCO & WWF RoC by maintaining efficient and effective financial and accounting operations, as well as ensuring sound management of financial resources to deliver conservation goals.

Key Responsibilities
The Senior Risk & Compliance Officer will play a central role in ensuring WWF CCO & WWF RoC operate in line with best practices, policies, and standards, with a focus on risk management and compliance.
- Risk & Compliance Management
- Ensure an environment of strong controls and compliance within WWF CCO & WWF RoC.
- Maintain and update the Risk and Management Registers, ensuring quarterly follow-up of mitigation actions.
- Develop and oversee risk mitigation plans.
- Monitor project implementation to ensure compliance with WWF International's policies, donor requirements, and the Risk & Control Framework.
- Conduct regular reviews of country field projects to identify control gaps and address non-compliance with internal policies.
- Support projects in implementing effective processes aligned with WWF International standards.
- Audit & Control
- Prepare and coordinate both internal and external audits.
- Lead self-internal audits in line with the Field Operations Manual (FOM).
- Support the coordination and follow-up of management responses to audit findings.
- Monitor the implementation of audit and compliance reviews across WWF RoC, using a shared resource framework between the two countries.
- Plan and execute at least two self-audits (compliance reviews) per year in WWF RoC, depending on shared resources.
- Capacity Building & Support
- Develop and deliver training, tools, and support to strengthen financial and compliance capacity across Programme Offices.
- Provide recommendations to senior management on best practices in:
- Cost recovery
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Balance sheet analysis
- Cash flow management
- Drive initiatives to improve the overall financial performance of Programme Offices.
- Other Duties: Carry out any additional responsibilities as assigned by the Country Director.
