Job Description

As a Telecom Infrastructure Management Technician at CAMTEL, you will address complex topics that shape the maintenance and operation of our critical installations. Through your technical expertise, you will ensure compliance with codes and standards, develop infrastructure improvements, and act as an expert in your field (air conditioning, electricity, IT).

Main Functions

Maintenance and Inspection

  • Regularly inspect and supervise critical equipment and intervene in case of anomalies or malfunctions
  • Perform Level 1 and 2 preventive and corrective maintenance
  • Rigorously follow maintenance schedules and perform preventive tasks on installations
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance performed, repairs completed, and parts replaced

Critical Environment Management

  • Maintain adequate environment (air conditioning, electrical power, security) for vital infrastructures
  • Accomplish assigned tasks efficiently without disrupting activity
  • Use appropriate PPE, such as suits and/or arc flash protection suits

Coordination and Collaboration

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teams and suppliers to achieve objectives
  • Follow established procedures for assigned activities
  • Comply with all federal, state and local regulations related to operations and workplace safety

Comprehensive Technical Management

  • Manage planning, programming, budgeting, resource allocation and execution of all technical services necessary for building maintenance and renovation
  • Supervise the following areas: mechanical, electrical, plumbing, controls, fire alarms, concierge services, landscaping, flooring, lighting, furniture, storage, pest control, indoor plants and call center services

Academic Background

Minimum diploma of Baccalaureate + 2 level combined with any training in electrical engineering, computer science or refrigeration and air conditioning or related field.

Required Skills and Experience

Specialized Technical Experience

  • Experience with electrical, mechanical and/or fire safety systems
  • Experience with telecom power systems (UPS, Rectifiers, Converters, generators and auxiliary installations)
  • Practical experience in supervising and maintaining critical environments (data centers, network nodes)
  • Knowledge of energy management systems or building management systems (BMS)

Analytical and Technical Skills

  • Ability to write detailed factual reports on infrastructure status (before, during and after work)
  • Ability to read and interpret fire, electrical and mechanical system diagrams
  • Ability to diagnose, manage and solve maintenance problems quickly and efficiently
  • Experience in creating comprehensive preventive maintenance plans and tracking tools

Physical Capabilities

  • Physical ability to sit, stand, bend, push, pull, reach and lift objects weighing up to 34 kg continuously
  • Ability to work long hours in a data center environment (typically between 15°C and 43°C)
  • Ability to climb and use ladders of different types and at different heights

Management Experience

  • Experience in construction and facility management, with particular attention to completion and/or maintenance of exceptional stores or workspaces
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining relationships with facility operations teams, utilities, government agencies, architecture and design firms, and general construction companies
  • Perfect command of French and English considered an asset
