Sightsavers has an exciting vacancy for an NTD Research Coordinator to join our team based in Yaounde, Cameroon. You will join our team and be instrumental in supporting Onchocerciasis research activities.

NTD Research Coordinator (2 year fixed term contract)

Location: Yaounde, Cameroon

The position reports to the Country Director and requires a strong interest in Neglected Tropical Diseases and a broad range of expertise using both quantitative and qualitative methodologies. You will work closely with the National NTD Programme and other relevant stakeholders in the support of research, dissemination and capacity building activities.

The ideal candidate will possess a University Degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Research Methods or equivalent from a recognised University.

The successful candidate should have a minimum of 3 years' work experience, ideally in an INGO environment and demonstrable experience of conducting and managing research in the areas of health and Neglected Tropical Diseases. You will have sound knowledge of collecting quantitative and qualitative data with the ability to produce concise reports; you will utilise these reports to produce literature reviews, research grant applications and peer reviewed publications.

You will have strong analytical skills and the proven skills to plan, design, undertake and supervise research projects. It is essential you have excellent written and oral skills in English and French and work under minimum supervision. Strong IT skills are essential and the willingness to travel up to 16 weeks a year.
