Work Hours: Full time, 40 hours/week

The U.S. Mission in Yaounde, Cameroon is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Administrative Clerk. This position is located in Yaounde, Cameroon.

Basic Function of the Position

Under the direct supervision of the Public Affairs Officer, the incumbent participates in the planning, development, implementation, and administration of the Mission's Public diplomacy (PD) programs by providing advice and assistance regarding the feasibility of program operations from the standpoint of funds, staff, facilities, program equipment and other resource requirements. He/She manages and closely tracks the Public Affairs Section's budget in concert with the Financial Management Office, and is adept in other systems governing grants and procurements.

Qualifications Required

Applicants must address each required qualification listed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item. Failure to do so may result in a determination that the applicant is not qualified.

Education: Technical High School diploma (GCE ‘A' Level or BACC) in accounting or finance is required.

Experience: At least two years progressively responsible experience in budgeting, bookkeeping, accounting, financial management, or grants management is required, in an international organization or a large local institution.

Language: Level III (Good Working Knowledge) speaking/reading/writing English and French are required. (This will be tested)

Skills and Abilities: The incumbent must have the ability to anticipate and plan for the usage of expendable supplies; computer skills; ability to communicate clearly; and ability to maintain and update equipment inventories and records. (Skills and abilities may be tested.)

Job Knowledge: The incumbent must be able to acquire knowledge on how to use the Embassy inventory system software; ability to maintain supply records and complete order forms; acquire knowledge of Embassy maintenance procedures. (Job knowledge may be tested.)
